Recently, Fr. Jerome Marquez, SVD, the
executive director of the Arnold Janssen Catholic Mission Foundation Inc.
(AJCMFI) posted photos of the 8th Graduation Batch of the indigenous peoples in
Palawan who underwent the Indigenous Learning System. He interestingly noted
that there were more ALS passers from the indigenous peoples at the DedED A
& E exams compared to the learners from the city. He also congratulated the
teachers, chieftains, learners and the foundation.

AJCMFI is a nonprofit organization
dedicated to educating dropouts, illiterates and indigenous people. Started in
2002, it aims to help create a society free from “ignorance, poverty and
sinfulness.” It envisions a society of individuals that are conscious of their
rights and responsibilities, enhanced social awareness, and spiritually renewed
in order to contribute to the attainment of a holistic social transformation,
that is, to achieve the fullness of life.
