Saint Arnold Janssen Shrine on Visita Iglesia

The Seven Churches Visitation also known as Visita Iglesia is a pious Roman Catholic Lenten tradition by attempting to visit seven churches or religious sites. Traditionally observed on Maundy Thursday, it is commonly practiced during any day of the Holy Week.

Led by their parish priest Ed Orpilla, SVD, the St. Arnold Janssen Shrine Parish of Cainta, Rizal opted to visit Laguna this year. This has been an annual observance of the Worship Committee of the parish.

“I felt so blest,” exclaimed Beth Yanquiling, one of the Divine Word Lectors who has served the parish faithfully even before it became a parish.

Photos below are some of their pilgrimage photos.

Chrism Mass

On Holy Thursday morning (in some dioceses it may be another morning during Holy Week), the bishop, joined by the priests of the diocese, gather at the Cathedral to celebrate the Chrism Mass. This Mass manifests the unity of the priests with their bishop. Shown here are some of our SVD priests at the Sacred Heart Parish of Kamuning during the said Holy Mass. They are joined with other hundred priests who renewed their priestly vows at the Diocese of Cubao.
